Ferguson’s Alpena Excavating started out in the early 1960’s when Alvin and Mary Losinski purchased a home and a piece of property in Alpena on Route #3. Soon after they established Losinski Excavating and Septic Tank Co. at that location, which is 5281 US 23 North in Alpena today. The business has operated at the same location for over 60 years. As the Losinski family grew, so did the business, and it soon gained a reputation for honest, dependable service. Mary and Alvin worked alongside each other until Alvin’s untimely passing in 1984. At that time, their son  Perry Losinski, returned home to work at the business alongside his brother, Larry Losinski, who worked with their parents since he was a teenager and who continues to work there today. In 1994, Perry and his wife Kelly purchased the business from Mary operating it until Perry’s retirement in 2024. In July 2024 ownership transferred to Gabe Ferguson of Ferguson’s Alpena Excavating.

Losinski Excavating and Septic Tank, Co. was the first contractor in the Alpena area to own and operate an excavator and they were instrumental in the installation of water and sewer lines for the development of the Presque Isle Association. For over 60 years, Losinski Excavating has assisted countless customers and often generations of repeat customers with their excavation needs. They are known as the trusted, reliable experts in septic system installation and excavation services for the Alpena area. Ferguson’s Alpena Excavating is a direct extension of Losinski Excavating and the commitment to excellence and honest, reliable service that was built by the Losinski family.
